Working in the CRM
Importing and capturing contacts
Three ways to get people in without typing: Import a CSV file, Scan a card with your phone, or capture them from LinkedIn with the browser extension.
See it instead of reading it. The CRM board: a 3-minute guided tour on a sample board.
Import a CSV
- 1On the board, click Import at the top right.
- 2Choose the file. Exports from Excel, Google Sheets and most other CRMs work.
- 3Pick which heading holds the record's name.
- 4Check where every other heading goes. The CRM guesses from the heading names; correct any it got wrong, or choose to skip a column.
- 5Optionally tick Skip rows already on this board, matched on a column such as Email, so nothing is imported twice.
- 6Click Import. Nothing is saved until you do, so backing out is free.
Scan a business card
- 1On Contacts or Leads, click Scan a card.
- 2Point your phone's camera at the QR code on screen and open the link.
- 3Photograph the card. The name, title, company, email and phone are read from it and the person is added to the board. The screen on your computer follows along as it happens.
You can also upload a photo of a card that is already on your computer from the same window.
Capture from LinkedIn
The browser extension adds a small card under LinkedIn profiles. Choose Lead or Contact and save. It fills in name, title, company and profile link, plus email and phone for your first-degree connections. A profile already in your CRM shows Already in CRM instead of adding it again. See Settings → Integrations for how to install it.
Import, card scanning and LinkedIn capture are on the Professional plan.
